Colouring with Spectrum Noir Metallic Markers and Pencils

This week my son asked me to draw him a rocket for his wall so I though it was a great opportunity to get out my Spectrum Noir Metallic Markers and see what they can do.

Why I Love Metallic Markers

I love using these markers for calligraphy brush lettering as they are so smooth and the brush nib is so flexible. But the main reason is they work on anything, dark card/paper, light card/paper, vellum, acetate, wood, glass, ceramics, even fabric.

They are only semi-permanent when dry so will wash off with a very good scrub but for decoration purposes I love them, as when the ink is dry it will stay put.

Earlier this year I was challenged to create a large illustration using just the Metallic Markers and designed a vintage looking robot which came out really well. (Reminder to self - must get photograph from person I gave it to).

Vintage Rocket Metallic Markers

So I thought I would give it another go this time with a vintage rocket, A4 size!

To add more detail I used the creamy Spectrum Noir Metallic Pencils and the Opaque Ink pads for the background.

In this video I show how I created my picture and talk through the uses and tips for using the Metallic Markers and Pencils.
